Laura Smith

Laura Smith is a veteran communicator with proven experience in media relations, strategic communication, policy advocacy and marketing. Her professional experience includes working in state government, in political campaigns, and for state and national advocacy organizations – including leading coalition media advocacy efforts in Minnesota. Before moving to Minnesota in late 2016, Smith worked in Democratic politics in Wisconsin, including serving in Governor Doyle’s press shop and leading communications for the Assembly Minority Leader. Smith is passionate about advancing equity and social justice through communication and advocacy campaigns. She grew up in Maine and earned a bachelor’s degree in economics from Trinity University. Smith currently lives in Minneapolis with her husband and rescue dog.
