Calvin is an Associate at Arc Initiatives, where he works with civic engagement and voting rights groups and organizations, supporting their initiatives to strengthen democratic participation and combat challenges to electoral integrity. Calvin’s work contributes to a broader national campaign powered by multiple civic-minded nonprofit organizations working together to counter voter suppression and increase voter turnout in our elections. Calvin provides partner-level support, and he monitors media and generates client coverage reports.
Before joining Arc, Calvin worked at the National Democratic Institute in Washington, D.C., where he supported global democracy and information integrity initiatives through research, program operations, and stakeholder coordination. He monitored geopolitical and digital trends to inform strategy, contributed to grant proposals, and supported initiatives including Online Violence Against Women in Politics, training programs, and international election monitoring. Previously, Calvin served as the Joseph S. Nye, Jr. intern in the communications department at the Center for a New American Security, where he focused on media relations and communications initiatives for research, events, and foreign policy products.
Calvin holds a master’s degree in Global Policy from the University of Maine at Orono and a bachelor’s degree in Computer Applications from the University of Maine at Fort Kent. He also earned an associate’s degree in General Studies from Arkansas Baptist College. Calvin has a personal interest in film, photography, civic society, and media literacy related to misinformation and disinformation.
